SalvaMontes protects nature and endangered species in Colombia’s Tropical Andes and Tumbes-Chocó-Magdalena through the implementation of conservation strategies, research, environmental education, nature tourism, and coordinating with local communities.
SalvaMontes protects some of Columbia’s most endangered and unrecognized species by working with local communities to establish Nature Reserves, facilitate essential research, and promote education about the area’s biodiversity. Currently, SalvaMontes manages five Nature Reserves, protecting approximately 1,400 hectares of habitat for 100 endemic species of plants and animals.
